How high do we fly our balloons?
We typically fly between 500' and 1000' from the ground. In open areas we like to float at treetop level where passengers can pick the leaves off the tops of trees. Should guests wish to fly higher, we are delighted to accomidate them. We like to describe our flights as "aerial nature walks".

How fast do balloons fly?
A balloon flies at the speed of the wind. We fly in gentle breezes under 10 m.p.h.

Is there a feeling of motion during a balloon flight?
No, In calm cnoditions in which we fly there is nothing that makes the basket sway. It hangs motionless in the air mass in which it is suspended. If you hold a candle in your hands as you fly, it will not flicker. Tranquillity and calm are the words frequently used by our guests to describe the sensation they feel on our flights.

Do the passengers sit or stand in the basket?
Passengers stand during our flight of approximatley one hour.

Is age a consideration in making the trip?
Not really, Age is not a barrier to thoroughly enjoy our flights but height may want to be considered. The sides of our baskets are approximately 42" high.

What training do balloon pilots have?
The U.S. Federal Government (FAA) requires a minimum of 10 hours of instruction before it will grant a private pleasure balloon pilot's certificate and 35 hours for a commercial balloon pilot's certificate. All our pilots of a commercial balloon pilot's certificate are familiar with the area.

What is your advice about photography?
With the beautiful balloons and smiling faces they produce, even an instamatic will create a marvelous record of your trip. Be sure to bring extra film, people never seem to have enough.

What is the weather like?

Our area has a moderate climate with gentle wind patterns for the most part. The temperature is the same in the basket as it is on the ground.

Which month is best?
We typically fly from May through October. Each month has it's own distinct personality and advantages. Choose your favorite season for your flight.

What happens if a flight is postponed due to inclement weather?
Should we encounter high winds or extensive rain during our scheduled flight time, we will reschedule for the next available date. Every effort will be made to make up the flight as soon as your schedule and our permits. We appreciate your patience and cooperation with this matter.

How long has Dreams Come True been in operation?
We have been flying commercial flights since 1991 in the Tuscarawas County area. We have been flying hot air balloons since 1989.

Is previous ballooning experience necessary for passengers?
No, not at all. Everyone is welcome and hands on experience is available for anyone who wants to help with the balloon.
